Lick your lips and tingle your tastebuds for Palma’s annual tapas festival ‘TaPalma’ is only a month away.
Running from 26 November to 02 December and now in its 13th year, Palma will be welcoming thousands of visitors over the five day festival who will be sampling and savouring contemporary and traditional tapas in more than 30 bars and restaurants throughout the city.
The participating bars and restaurants offer specially created tapas for around €2 each and the festival is structured around eight tapas routes taking in some of Palma’s most interesting and distinctive neighbourhoods, such as Santa Catalina, Paseo Maritimo and Portixol (to name but three).
It really is a wonderful way to explore this beautiful Mediterranean city while dining on the highest quality tapas at a bargain price. Many restaurants are also starting to offer special cocktails to accompany the tapas. Several awards are up for grabs for the best tapa, best restaurant, best theme, etc so competition between restaurants is lively!
With the bars and restaurants open from 12.30 to 16.00 and from 19.30 to midnight, there is more than ample opportunity to taste and explore the best that Palma has to offer.
So whether you are on your own or with family or friends, grab a TaPalma map and set off on your chosen route looking out for the handy TaPalma banners welcoming you to the participating restaurants.
If you can’t make TaPalma, then a why not try the mini version of TaPalma held year round ? Every Tuesday in the old town in the street around Place España, you can enjoy a tapas and drink fro around €2.00. Excellent value.
