Bodega Ribas


Ribas wines have been produced at the Bodega Ribas family wine estate since 1711.

Tucked behind the main road that runs through Consell in the centre of the island, Bodega Ribas is the oldest bodega on Mallorca. Sister and brother team, Araceli and Xavier Servera Ribas, have been working tirelessly to ensure the future of this historic estate by qualifying themselves and travelling extensively around the world so as to make sure they they are up to date with the latest thinking and technologies.

They have introduced more modern ways of working and have made sure that their wines reach the widest possible audience while at the same time ensuring that their winemaking practices are not compromised.

With 40 hectares of vines producing a 160,000 bottles a year, most winemakers would consider this a low yield. However, it is quality that counts not quantity.

Most of what is bottled at Bodega Ribas is consumed on Mallorca, as it is a local favourite, but with the extensive range of tours and events everyone can now enjoy a sip of their wines.

Bodega Ribas produce two reds, Sio, which is structured and complex and the Ribas label red, both delivering smooth big flavours. The Ribas white is crisp and dry, not dissimilar to a chablis, and they also produce a very popular Ribas Rosé.

Sioneta, with it’s distinctive hand line drawn label and squat shaped bottle is a 100% muscat wine perfect as an aperitif or dessert wine.

Ribas harvest native grape varieties. Prensal for whites with a small blend of Viognier and Mantonegro for reds grown organically and harvested in part by hand which give the wines a unique quality.

Visiting the winery is the best way to learn more and the team of winegrowers and winemakers welcome you on a variety of tours meeting in their state of the art wine tasting wine cellar.

Choose a winery tour tasting three wines and their olive oil lasting 1 hour, with appetisers lasting 2 hours or their gastro experience with a full meal served in the garden or the house lasting 3/4 hours.
