Palma Riad

Tucked in a quiet street in the historic old own, 5* Palma Riad offers an atmospheric boutique stay.

With a flavour of north Africa and drawing on the island’s Moorish past, this is a luxury Moroccan-inspired riad in the heart of Palma.

Opened in 2022, the property is the brainchild of designer, Pablo Peyra, where theatrical flourishes lend the hotel an air of glamour. Think deep velvet, oversized mirrors, lampshades, chandeliers and lacquered furniture. Atmospheric and opulent !

The bright and luminous courtyard, complete with dizzying atrium lined with lush palms, ivy-clad walls, with fountain and fireplace, welcomes you in. 

With just 11 suites, this feels more like a private residence than a hotel with a strong emphasis on personalised service. 

Set over four floors, the individually designed suites are all generous, with most offering fireplaces and large bathrooms with hamman-style baths. 

Some suites also have terraces. Each is decadent and bold, retro pieces, zebra skin rugs, gold in abundance, tassled lampshades and hidden modern touches like televisions concealed behind mirrors. Some rooms open onto terraces, while others overlook the internal courtyard, but all share a sense of indulgence. 

For a treat book either Suite Marrakech, my personal favourite, generous at 45 sqm with private terrace complete with Balinese bed and outdoor shower ! Or for even more room Suite Sultán, the jewel in the crown at 70m2 with separate living room and space for four adults.
