Gran Hotel Margalida

Home to Joan and Margalida Vives, the then named Mar-Vent Hotel opened its doors to visitors in 1931 as a restaurant with just a couple of rooms for overnight guests. 

Roll on almost a hundred years and family owned Annua Signature Hotels together with Spanish architect Alvaro Onieva and interior designer Virginia Nieto have reimagined a new legacy for this historic building that redefines Mediterranean luxury through a contemporary lens.

Facing west, the hotel frames its surroundings offering sea views from every perspective and sunsets from every angle. Its understated exterior conceals a soothing sanctuary. This hotel is all about rest, relaxation and recharging.  

Layered like a wedding cake, the 29 bedrooms and suites are set over four floors and all have views of the sea. All are spacious, flooded with natural light, with stone flooring and decorated in easy-on-the-eye neutral palette with warm earth tones and splashes of colour in the sumptuous furnishings. 

There are seven room categories to choose from ranging from Double to Superior with and without Terrace and three suites categories, Junior, Sunset and Signature.

For those wanting more space to spread out, the Suites are generous with panoramic views from their private terraces. In the Sunset Suite, the views from the bathtub take centre stage and, for the ultimate in space, book The Signature Suite boasting not only a standalone bathtub but a private wine cellar and lavish terrace. 

Sunshine yellow candy-striped loungers flank the pool with matching parasols giving a hint of a bygone era. 

The Wellness area is fully equipped with Technogym, Pilates Reformer, an outdoor yoga platform facing the Mediterranean, pool with floor to ceiling windows and a sauna.
