Luxury 5* Hotel Can Ferrereta, a graceful 17th century Manor House, sits in a peaceful location yet is just moments on foot from the main square of picturesque Santanyi with its honey-hued architecture, cobbled lanes, chic shopping and lively weekly markets. 

This masterpiece of heritage, design and comfort is the sister hotel to award-winning Sant Francesc Hotel Singular in Palma and offers an east coast adults-only haven of tranquility. The renovation was a challenge. Originally a private residence and abandoned for many years, the Soldevila family worked hard to preserve the integrity of the home’s grandeur.  And what a job they have done.

Time-worn stone and cobbles, chalk white rendered plaster walls, balustrades and exposed beams have been retained whilst incorporating modern design elements for the luxury traveller. A calming colour palette throughout contrasts perfectly with the extensive collection of contemporary sculptures, paintings and lighting installations.

Recently awarded a coveted Two Michelin Keys which denote an exceptional stay, unique in every way.

The 32 rooms include 19 suites and are housed in the main building and an adjacent building. All are spacious, airy and elegant and decorated with a warm beige palette and natural textures against a backdrop of modern artworks and most have either a terrace, balcony or patio. 

There are three room types, Junior suites with garden views and several signature suites. The Duplex is fabulous. At 65 m² it is big, with private terrace, free-standing bathtub and Mallorcan courtyard views.

There is the blissful Can Ferrereta Suite, with its warm wooden floors and earthy tones overlooking the courtyard and Santanyí Church, but for those wanting a little extra room book a Terrace Suite or the gorgeous Pool Suite. 

The Terrace suites are sophisticated inside and out, with their own large private garden, sun loungers and outdoor shower. 

For a secluded plunge the Pool Suite is the most exclusive and is divine. With some 70 m² inside and the same space outside in your own private garden complete with heated plunge pool, loungers and dining area if you fancy dining in !

The centre-piece of the hotel is the mature gardens with a show-stopping  25-metre pool surrounded by tempting nautical blue-and-white striped loungers on a spacious sundeck. For cooler days there is a heated hydromassage lap pool in the purpose built Sa Calma Spa. There is also a hammam, sauna and 24-hour gym.

Choose from a wide selection of facials, massages and body rituals using locally sourced ingredients. Weekly yoga and meditation classes are offered in the space in front of the spa.

The signature Ocre Restaurant, headed up by Alvar Albaladejo, has fast become one the the best eateries in the area. 

Offering a Mediterranean seasonal menu using local produce (you might bump into one of the chefs at the town’s weekly market, scouring for the freshest tomatoes to blitz into a delicious gazpacho) .

Housed in a former wine cellar, during warmer months it spills out onto a peaceful candlelit patio. 

La Fresca, is open for all day poolside dining with a choice of salads, sandwiches and light dishes. 

Location is great. Wander into Santanyí’s pretty plaza on foot or, further afield, you are 20 minutes away from the Flor de Sal salt pans with their all-white salt mountains and, just beyond, the popular white sands of Es Trenc beach.
