Summer in Mallorca brings high temperatures, little or no rain and wide blue skies so hold onto your hat and slap on suncream.
The airport in July and August is buzzing as these are the two busiest months of the year. Transport is easily accessible on arrival if your need a taxi, bus or plan to hire a car. With around 9 million passengers passing through the airport in the summer months you can expect it to be busy.
Summertime is about being close to water, pool or beach, so that you can cool off. With over 260 beaches to choose from you are spoilt for choice, but make sure to get going early to bag the best patch of sand.
There are plenty of beach clubs and summer concerts ranging from classical ( the annual music festival in Déia) to rock, pop and jazz and even a few top-line artists.
If you fancy a day out on the water, there are plenty of boats to choose from whether it be a self-drive rib or a super yacht.
For adrenalin junkies visit one Mallorca’s waterparks. Summer also plays host to a number of fiestas. The Nit de Foc ( Night of Fire ) is celebrated across the island but the biggest party is in Palma at the end of June. Celebrated on the eve of Sant Joan, you will see bonfires, hear fireworks and witness `devils´ and `demons´ running through the streets.
Whatever you decide to do, have fun! The days are long. The nights are barmy. Sit out on a terrace, grab a cool drink and savour the best sunsets in the Mediterranean.
