Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel Es Trenc

The 4* adults -only Bikini Island & Mountain Hotel Es Trenc is located in an enviable position snuggled between the stylish seaside town of Colònia de Sant Jordi and the famous Es Trenc beach. 

This is not a shy hotel. Its bohemian design reminiscent of the hippie aesthetic of the 1960s wows you on arrival with its colourful exterior of sand and moss green complemented with floral murals. This hotel is all relaxed with a boho vibe.

Comprising of three 1960s buildings, overlooking Mallorca’s cragged south eastern shoreline, the interior follows the same colourful and playful theme in decor, soft furnishings and an abundance of bamboo furniture.  One of the hotel’s buildings, formerly a pool house, is now a creative lounge complete with a vinyl collection and a former pool is now a sunken lounge. 

The rooms and suites are located in one of the three buildings, Lobbyhouse, Cliffhouse or Poolhouse. There are nine categories ranging from cosy urban rooms to spacious seaside suites and penthouses, most with private balconies or terraces and sea views. 

Decor follows the same colourful and quirky theme, with not a white wall in sight. This is not a minimalist hotel. There are no TVs (unless you’re in a suite or a penthouse), encouraging guests to disconnect and enjoy their surroundings. 

Each room comes with suncream, hand-held fans, a Bluetooth speaker and a reusable water bottle as standard. Very thoughtful.

Plus there’s a free water dispenser offering both still and sparkling water and and empty fridge that you can refill from the sensibly priced shop downstairs. Balconies are spacious, the perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening sunset. 

The centrepiece of course is the outdoor pool, generous at 23 meters for length swimming lovers. Surrounded by lush gardens with palms and cacti, and shaded chill-out areas. The gardens open onto the waters edge allowing for cliff-jumping directly into the sea if you dare and water sports equipment including stand-up paddle and snorkels are available at reception at no extra charge. 

Hamburg brand Gin Sul and the Donkey Bar are located next to the pool and offer excellent cocktails to go with a perfect sunset – simply breathtaking.

The Santaverde Spa is located in the centre of the hotel and boasts a spacious sauna and stream room as well as treatments rooms with a vast menu to choose from using their own Santaverde organic products.

A well-equipped gym and yoga studio where you can practice three times a week for free with sea views!

NENI is the signature restaurant, offering a menu that combines flavours from the Middle East and the Mediterranean, with options for both meat-eaters and vegetarians with a relaxed vibe and dining both indoor and outdoor spilling out onto a terrace overlooking the sea.

For active guests, the hotel offers bike rental (see below), yoga sessions and curated local experiences such as coastal cycling tours, hikes and excursions to nearby markets and islands.
