David Raya, the head chef, has an impressive culinary pedigree. David’s career began in Mallorca later moving to Barcelona where he perfected his skills working as a chef at Rocabar and Rocamoo, the latter boasting a Michelin star.

On his return to the island, he has worked with award winning Igor Rodríguez Sanz, Spanish tapas and pintxos champion, and with Fernando Arellano, head chef at Mallorca´s only two Michelin star restaurant Zaranda.

His innovative and highly creative menu is rooted firmly in Mallorca and the Mediterranean with Asian influences using only the very best ingredients and products most of which are sourced locally.

Start your meal at La Despensa del Baron with mouth-watering specialities such as croquettes with garlic prawn filling and a spicy kick of Sriracha or one of their vegan delights of mini courgette ravioli stuffed with sweet potato purée and walnuts, sun-dried tomato jam and grilled pak choy.

For your main a favourite recommendation would be monkfish coated in garlic breadcrumbs in Mallorcan pica-pica, served with fried artichokes or choose the ‘Pluma’, Iberian pork shoulder loin served with a sweet fig, caramelised onion and cinnamon relish.

Leave room for desert because you do not want to miss the finale. Coconut milk and rum panacotta with caramelised pineapple and mint crumble. Delicious !
