Finca Serena
Finca Serena, one of the island’s oldest estates, sits atop a small hill with jaw-dropping vistas of the Mallorcan countryside. This adults only retreat, set in more than 100 acres of pristine ancient olive groves, lavender, citrus and pine trees, and vineyard which delivers Finca Serena white and rose wine, exudes a feeling of calm and serenity.
The gate slides open on arrival to reveal an avenue lined with towering palms that lead past the former cow barn, now cleverly transformed into a state of the art spa, towards the main house.
Mallorcan architect Sergi Bastidas triumphed in his design by reimagining the finca’s originals features and incorporating them with modern touches. In the main house you will find the reception and lounge area where the design journey begins with white-on-white and earthy tones which overlap with natural materials such as linen, wood furnishings and sisal rugs.
In front of the main house is the dining terrace with steps down to the pool, both perfectly positioned for admiring the spectacular views of the Mallorcan countryside.
The 25 bedrooms and suites divided into six categories are both in the main house and scattered across the property. All are unique and light flooded and decorated in white punctuated with biscuit and warm earthy tones with polished concrete floors.
Many of the rooms enjoy an outside patio, some with hammocks or terraces facing onto lush gardens, and some with spectacular views across the valley.
For a real treat, book the private villa, Villa Serena, offering jaw-dropping views across to Montuiri. With private garden and veranda, you can really spread out and it is moments from the spa for those all important treatments or early morning yoga.
Dine at Jacaranda Restaurant where chef Óscar Velasco and his team offer a daily changing menu. Fed by fresh ingredients from the estate’s kitchen gardens, fruit trees and their own olive oil, the menu combines traditional recipes with contemporary flair.
During the warmer months, you can spill out onto the terrace at Los Olivos shaded by olive trees and drink in those views.
Bikes are available, regular yoga, an 8km running track crossing forests, vineyards and fields of lavender and a gym. If you can drag yourself away, the charming village of Montuiri is just minutes away and you are just 20 minutes by car from some of the island’s best-known beaches.
This tranquil countryside location with attentive service from the staff is the perfect hideaway for a well deserved spot of Rest and Relaxation.
