Spring arrives early in Mallorca with longer days and milder mornings. Many coastal hotels are starting to open up across the island after a short winter break with amazing offers. Sea temperatures are rising and Easter is the time to enjoy an invigorating dip.
Mallorca is the perfect destination for an activity holiday at this time of year. By March this is in full bloom with wild flowers and corn daisies of yellow and white carpeting the valleys and plains.
The roads are relatively empty and while it may not yet be warm enough to lie on the beach, the temperature is perfect for exploring what the island has to offer.
The towns and villages across the island have hung on tight to their traditions and you may be lucky enough to join in one of the centuries-old spring fiestas such as Semana Santa or Easter Holy week.
Take a bike out or hike one of the many well marked trails in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range in the west of the island, now a World Heritage Site.
Or why not visit one one Mallorca’s 70 or so wineries for a tour and tasting or visit an olive estate.
For those foodies amongst you Mallorcan’s new generation of chefs are reinventing traditional recipes and have set the bar high. Dress up to dine out at of Mallorca’s Michelin-starred restaurants, or dine on local cuisine in one of Mallorca’s towns or mountain villages.
If your looking for more than beach visit in Spring and get a taste of the real Mallorca.
