The restaurant scene in Palma continues to flourish and new arrivals are always welcoming particularly when they are of the calibre of The Kitchen.

Headed up by Austrian Masterchef Simon Petutschnig with some 20 years experience most recently as the chef at the award winning Sant Francesc Hotel, you are guaranteed an excellent dining experience at The Kitchen.

Working with Michelin starred chefs in Switzerland and Spain has allowed Simon to perfect modern techniques combing both Spanish and Asian cuisine which is driving a `Med-Asian´foodie revolution.

Situated in the neighbourhood of Sant Nicholau, the restaurant used to house one of Palma´s oldest patisseries, Can Frasquet so it is no stranger to excellent Mallorcuisine. The Kitchen, which is open from lunch till late, offers an exceptional `Mediter- Asian´ menu with an emphasis on seasonality in a contemporary setting.

The food is served in the form of `plates´ or `bowls´ ideal for family and friends to get together to share in an atmosphere that is informal and relaxed.

The weekly lunch menu is priced at €19.50 for 3 courses and there is an excellent choice of Mallorcan wine on the wine list to accompany. The Kitchen is a great place to enjoy a lazy lunch and watch the world go by.

Between lunch and dinner service, pica and picas are offered with drinks such as pan fried edamame with chili and sesame seeds and pork belly bao with pickled cucumber and a hoisin sauce.

In the evening there is an A la Cárte menu offering a selection from a raw bar, such as oysters natural “fine de claire” with tomato, pomegranate and lime dressing and marinated salmon carpaccio with classic potato aioli salad or a section of starters and mains such as pan-fried scallops with curried pumpkin soup, glazed beef cheeks with smoked bacon, shallots and pea puree or lamb tagine with dried apricots.

Leave room for a delicious dessert such as chocolate mousse with toffee and orange or carrot cake with lemon sorbet.

Food of this quality at these prices is rare these days so don´t delay !
