Situated on a hillside overlooking the stunning Canyamel Valley and the Mediterranean sea beyond, the brand new Park Hyatt Mallorca is now the ´go to `luxury resort on the East Coast of Mallorca.
Designed in the style of a traditional Spanish village, the communal areas of the hotel are centred around the Plaza de la Torre, a small village square with a clocktower. From here you can access the landscaped poolside terrace, featuring three pools (two of which are heated), the library, reception and all four restaurants.
The accommodation is arranged in clusters of eight guest rooms each named after the trees with which the resort has been landscaped (for example, Limonero, Olivero, Serenita etc). All rooms are spacious and luxuriously furnished in contemporary shades of beige and cream and all have terraces with sublime views over the Canyamel Valley. As a savvy off-seasoner, you could treat yourself and upgrade to a Park Suite and enjoy these stunning views from this magnificent balcony.
The beds are sumptuously comfortable and the generous bathrooms have his and hers sinks, a wet room come bath area as well, as wait for it, a TV integrated in the bathroom mirror just in case you need a screen fix whilst savouring the Bottega Veneta toiletries ! Nespresso machines, a kettle, a Böse bluetooth speaker and hotel tablet all come as standard.
You can saunter at your leisure down to any one of the four restaurants along the tranquil walkways each with its own central cascade of water which ends at the lower pool complex.
There is a Mini club for kids, state of the art gym complex as well as a huge spa area and, from December, guests will be able to use the facilities of the adjacent Country Club (at a small extra charge) , featuring tennis courts, outdoor pool as well as an indoor heated pool.
The Serenitas Spa. Home to seven treatments rooms, including two couple’s rooms, each with their own bath, relaxing day bed and terrace. You can enjoy a wide selection of treatments using locally inspired therapies based on some of the island’s treasures of lavender, rosemary, sea salts, olive oils, citrus or aloe vera. While away your time in the Himalayan salt sauna, steam rooms or outdoor jacuzzi or try the heated alpha quartz sand bed, the only one of its kind on the island.
It really is an oasis of calm, with its open terrace offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean sea and Serra de Llevant mountains beyond, the perfect place to spend a few winter days and escape the grey Northern European weather.
Location, location, location. The Park Hyatt Canyamel is set within a triangle of all sorts of interesting places to visit. The beach is just a 15 minute stroll away (or jump on one of the hotel´s complimentary bikes ), the Caves of Drach (containing one of the largest underground lakes in the world) and the historic town of Artá must all be on your see list.
You also have the small town of Capdepera, the stunning azure blue waters of Cala Mesquida and of course the old walled town of Alcudia with its fabulous Sunday Market, all just a short drive away.
Alternatively you could do a spot of walking, horse riding or cycling and a range of water sports are also available. If you are a golfer, then within just 15 minutes of the hotel, you have a choice of four superb golf courses, including a full 18-hole course adjacent to the resort.
Breakfast, which is included in the room rate, is served in the Balearic Restaurant between 07.30am -11.00am.
Drinks and hot breakfasts are served by the staff and you can help yourself to an extensive cold buffet.
