Hotel Nixe Palace, a luxury grand dame of hotels in Palma sits proudly in its spectacular seafront position, just a quick 6 km taxi ride from downtown Palma and yet feels a world away. Opened in 1954 when space was not at such a premium this hotel is vast so you really get a feeling of space. There is plenty of room to spread out and you will never feel crowded or be watching for a sunbed, as there are plenty to go around.
On entering the hotel you are welcomed by a reception area which stretches as far as the eye can see into the restaurant and breakfast area beyond.
After checking-in, you won’t be able to resist a stroll out onto the magnificent terrace to take a peek at the glistening Meditterranean sea whatever the Mallorcan weather.
Open all year round, the location of Hotel Nixe Palace just a short hop from Palma yet sitting directly on the beach, with its beautiful white sand and crystal clear waters, is it´s trump card.
The bedrooms range from a superior category right through to a Royal suite and all are light, spacious and quiet with or so comfy beds. Some of the rooms are internal facing but most have balcony or private terrace looking out onto the Mediterranean sea. The hotel has three restaurants, a free kids club (open in the summer months from 12.00 -19.00) and an excellent spa area with separate reception, heated indoor pool, jacuzzi and four treatment rooms.
A Popa Restaurant (popa means stern ) with its varnished wooden nautical dining room spills out onto a dining terrace enjoying an enviable position beside the lapping shore of the sea and the Bay of Cala Mayor.
Chef Toni Busquets and his team produce high quality Mediterranean and international cuisine using seasonal ingredients, impeccable presentation and first class local produce. Fresh fish and shellfish are at the heart of cooking here with specialities such as lobster stew and seafood paella to be found on the menu.
Your culinary journey through A Popa’s menu is complemented by outstanding desserts and a detailed wine list including many of Mallorca´s homegrown favourites.

It would have to be the staff. With history comes loyalty both of guests and staff. Welcomed by the same General Manager of ten years, Francisco Serrano del Valle, who began his career as a Nixe bellboy and quickly saw himself promoted to receptionist. Speaking Swedish, French, English, German, Spanish and Catalan, he has developed lasting relationships with returning guests. He has been able to assemble a team who are dedicated to their guests with him taking the lead.
An indispensable part of his team is Nina, Head of Guest Relations. Also fluent in five languages they both make a point of joining the guests at breakfast in the morning, the old fashioned way to see if guests have any concerns or questions that they could help with about their day ahead.
You only have to take a quick look at Tripadvisor to see they are consistently top of the leaderboard.
Breakfast, which is usually included in the room price, is served in the Santamar room from 7.00am -10.30am.
You can enjoy a delicious hot and cold buffet breakfast either inside or, in the warmer months, outside on the wonderful terrace with views of the beach.
The Bistro restaurant is open all year round with a privileged location on the hotel terrace, overlooking the Bay of Palma and Cala Mayor. A selection of light food is served, such as snacks, sandwiches and salads. Open from 12.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.
The hotel lobby bar is open for drinks and cocktails accompanied by live piano music (from 8.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m.). Open from 11.00 a.m. to 1.30 a.m.
