Tucked amidst the labyrinth of Palma´s old town, you find the luxurious comfort of the Boutique Hotel Calatrava. Opened in 2013, the hotel is the second arrival in a group of three hotels in Palma, privately owned and managed. The sister properties, the Boutique Hotel Can Cera and the Luxury Boutique Hotel Can Alomar are each just a short walk away.
Built in the 19th Century, the house makes up part of the marine facade of La Calatrava neighbourhood and looks over the luscious green of the Parc de la Mar to the sparkling waters of the Bay of Palma beyond. This hotel is all about its location. Minutes from the beach and minutes from the buzz of Palma and all there is to see.
As you enter the Boutique Hotel Calatrava you are immediately calmed by its cool and contemporary design and a welcome smile from their friendly staff going the extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Set over five floors the 16 bedrooms are all light bright and decorated in subtle hues all beautifully restored some including the original beamed wooden ceilings. Almost all have terraces or balconies with views over the Bay of Palma.
As a low season traveler why not treat yourself to one of their six Calatrava suits which at 60 square meters are very generous offering a private lounge and terrace each with those spectacular sea views. But the star attraction at the hotel without doubt is the 5th Floor breakfast terrace. Grab a coffee or a freshly squeezed orange juice, take a seat and take in that view.
If your feet are tired and you don’t fancy heading out for a bite then the bistro café with a sea view terrace offers a delicious menu.
Although the spa is snug, the luxury of booking it exclusively for one hour per day (included in the cost of your room) is a real treat. You can heat yourself in the sauna, bubble away in the jacuzzi or relax on the heated reclining beds. There are also two treatment rooms if you are in need of a little extra pampering and an extensive spa menu.
The location of this hotel is special. You are in the Calatrava neighbourhood which is one if the most popular spots in the old town and real estate agents clamber over every square foot. But for just a short time you can you your slice of the action. Upgrade to a suite as a savvy off-seasoner and drink in those views. Watch the cruise ships slip out of the Bay of Palma or marvel at the medieval La Seu Cathedral.
Breakfast is served daily on the 5th floor terrace (with it´s stunning views) at a cost of €19.25 per person, (or you may have opted to have the cost included when booking).
You can choose from a selection of fresh fruits and smoothies, buffet breakfast or from the ´la carte´menu.
On the ground floor with seating inside and outside on the Placa Llorenc is the Calatrava Cafe
serving a varied gourmet menu of Mallorcan and Spanish delicacies between 12.00 -23.00pm each day.
