Mallorca leaves food-lovers spoilt for choice when it comes to dining destinations, abundant with high quality fresh produce grown locally, often only minutes from a chef´s kitchen.

This exciting, diverse and constantly evolving food scene has recently enjoyed the addition of a new restaurant headed up by recently awarded Michelin starred chef Adrián Quetglas.

Of Mallorcan heritage, Adrian Quetglas was born in Argentina but his Mallorcan father and grandparents made sure he was brought up enjoying ` island´ cuisine. Interested in cooking from an early age, he honed his skills first in Paris and then in London training in Soho´s Quo Vadis with Marco Pierre White.

But he believes his mentor and now good friend Marc Fosh (the first English chef to be awarded a Michelin Star in Spain) to be his true inspiration for cooking. They travelled together to Moscow in 2005 where Adrián was to stay to continue his experience before fulfilling his dream of opening his own restaurant in Palma in 2016.

Situated on the colonnaded Passeig de Mallorca just off Avenida Jaime III, Palma´s upmarket shopping street, Adrián Quetzals Restaurant´s location is superb for a lazy lunch after shopping or an evening supper followed by a walk along the seafront just minutes down the hill.

Set on one level the restaurant is modern and bright and feels calm after the hustle and bustle of a busy central Palma.

This is a degustation-only restaurant where you will enjoy a menu (five courses at lunchtime or seven courses in the evening)  of small, dazzling dishes with selected wines to match perfectly (at an extra charge).

For lunch, taking just two courses as an example, you will dine on cream of aromatic herbs, black pudding truffle and hazelnut oil, followed by Atlantic trout with fennel and orange beurre blanc and the evening menu includes for example, Mallorcan loin of lamb, spiced puree of apricots, ground pistachios and black olive essence. Adrián´s vision for his food promises guests a complete gastronomic experience and boy does he deliver !

Adrian Quetglas restaurant should be on every foodie´s must try list and you will need to book.
